Popular contemporary classical icon Ludovico Einaudi makes his Singapore debut at the Esplanade Concert Hall.
One of the most important composers of the current day, Einaudi is the “world’s most streamed classical music artist” (NY Times), best-known for his numerous heart-breaking and beautiful film scores, bestselling solo albums and stunning live performances. He rose to prominence when his performance on a grand piano in the Arctic as glaciers crumbled around him was captured for a Greenpeace campaign.
Drawing from a wide range of influences from neo-classical, ambient, folk, pop, rock and experimental forms, Einaudi presents his signature style through his highly anticipated works from his latest and most ambitious project to date, Seven Days Walking. This project features seven albums released over seven months in 2019, inspired by a winter’s walk through the Alps. The first album of the project, Seven Days Walking: Day One became the fastest-streamed classical album of all time when it was released in Mar 2019.
Joined by cellist Redi Hasa and violinist and violist Federico Mecozzi, Einaudi presents an unmissable multi-sensory immersive experience enhanced by atmospheric visual projections.
“The idea first came to me as I was listening to the recordings of the first sessions: each version seemed to me to have its own personality, with subtleties so distinct from one another that I was unable to choose which I preferred. I associated everything with walking, with the experience of following the same routes over and over, discovering new details each time.”
